So today, I bought a 1986 BMW 325e, Badged from the factory as a 325, not sure why…Anyways, I now have two cars, the eta, and my 1969 Volvo 144, and neither of them are insured……The BMW would have been insured today, but I learned that if I wait till January 12th, I will have had my license for 3 years, so I get a 15% discount instead of 10%, and if I buy my insurance in conjunction with that, then every time I renew it each year, the new discount will apply as well, so I'm forgoing a month of E30 driving pleasure for some saved money and hassle :p But on to the car, here she is, along with my Volvo
It's hard to tell from this picture, but she's lowww….most of you will hate it, but she was cheap, runs amazingly well, and has a houndstooth interior. Oh and I've been pining for a straight six in my life basically since I heard one for the first time. So work has to be done, prettier wheels have to be scrounged, and there's a whole list of little things I could do, but most importantly, I have a running, driving car that I can daily, and, to quote Top Gear, she's got a straight six up front, manual transmission in the middle, and rear-wheel drive at the back :D I am a happy camper.
Lookin Über-slammed. Sorry for the quality of my potato, iPhones at night are fun….
Oh, and I already have a colour-matched IS lip with yellow fogs, and an IS trunk lid spoiler…

Congrats!!! Mind on letting us know how much you paid? I can see saving the insurance money, I hate paying it too. You have some pretty Oppo cars there!!!

Given that the eta was never considered a performance engine, do you have any plans to tweak it? Also, how much work to get the suspension fixed? I kid, I kid. Sort of.

Realistically, I'll convert to motronic 1.1/1.3, chip it for a higher redline, and put in stiffer valve springs. Oh and IS intake, possibly headers….ideally, I'll do a full 325is head swap, and even more ideally, I'll just toss in an M50 or something :p

I bought it from a friend, haven't fully paid yet, but it was for $1100 :D

Oh and the suspension haha, I'm gonna see how workable it is this low, but I'm looking to get spacers in there pretty quick, I don't like the camber…and if all else fails, I have a friend with a '91 318is that still has his stock suspension, so if I was cheap I could throw it in there after lopping a couple coils out, cuz who wants to be stock height ;)
